This is a classic stiff sea boat with a great pedigree, a joy to sail. The original owner carried out a major refit in 2003/4. Much new equipment was installed in 2009, including a new Beta Marine 10hp diesel engine, new gear box, shaft and propeller, new batteries, tanks, and full rewiring. The present owner refurbished the interior and carried out modifications to the rigging, including slab reefing, in 2010/11. All controls are led back to the roomy cockpit; easy for single handed sailing.
A particular advantage is the 6'2" headroom in the saloon.

Tarquah is of heavy duty GRP construction. Stiffening is provided by bonded-in, veneered marine plywood bulkheads and joinery. The deck and hull are joined by a biscuit tin joint protected by a teak rubbing strake, fastened at 22cms centres. Hull and deck mouldings are gel coat finish with moulded non-slip surfaces on the side decks, coach roof and cockpit sole.. The engine is supported on moulded GRP engine bearers. The keel is a shallow cast iron fin with a low vcg. bulb, secured to a shallow moulded GRP keel stub by four SS keel bolts. The rudder is a balanced spade to a SS rudder stock with neoprene bearings (new 2011) supported in a GRP tube.
Ground tackle - 25lb plough anchor with 40mts chain.

The Technodrive TMC40 gearbox and shaft are accessed through a hatch in the cockpit sole. SS shaft, 3 blade fixed pitch propeller, rope cutter. Single lever morse control. All new 2009.
