The Southerly 100 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught sailing yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. This 1989 example is both in good condition, and comprehensively equipped. The keel mechanism was rebuilt in 2010, and in 2017 she has had a new mainsail, genoa furling gear and standing rigging, plus other work.

The hull was coppercoated about fourteen years ago, but as the effectiveness of this started to fade she was antifouled over the coppercoat before I bought her. Done again 2023 but masking tape needs removal!.
The Southerly 100 was introduced in 1983, being a slightly updated version of the 1979 Dick Carter Southerly 95, itself a development of the original John Bennett designed Southerly 28 from 1974.
I sailed her over to Mayo from Southampton in 2018. She needs some TLC (mostly cosmetic) and a couple of minor electical issues. The list price represents a fantastic deal compared with similar Southerly 100s.
