"8ft Smack Yacht, bought as an open boat ,a "shell" from Portsmouth in 1985. The Testers Boatyard, Hollowshore, Kent, sold her on, as a restoration project to her present owner in 1986. Originally she was a twin masted Lugger, built circa 1895. The Miller Fifer was a very successful range of motor sailers, built by James Miller and Sons of St Monance, Scotland. Millers were a long established firm passing through several generations with a proud reputation for building fine fishing boats up to 70’ or so.
