Stunning example of an ocean going cruiser. This Moody 33S is offered for sale following a comprehensive refit and modernisation, which has included a complete electrical rewire (including LED lights both externally and internally, new batteries, solar charger etc), new plumbing (hot and cold), new seacocks, pumps, anodes, cutlass bearing etc. The end result is a modern, contemporary feel suitable for extended stays at sea (or even as a comfortable live aboard) without compromise to the integrity of the original design. To add further comfort, hot air heating has been installed and she has been fully insulated with soft foam insulation - which as well as regulating temperature, also reduces the likelihood of condensation, which can be a perennial problem with yachts without any form of insulation.
The gelcoat below the waterline has been professionally removed and replaced with a new West System resin with barrier adhesive to remove problems with osmosis typical in boats of this age and prevent the possibility of reoccurrence.
The mast is currently down to aid in her movement by road. Pull throughs are in place from the deck glands through into the main cabin and cables have been prepared for splicing such that the job can easily be completed by an enthusiastic amateur. Alternatively, the mast can be erected and the yacht launched from her current location.
The current owners have decided not to source new cushions on the basis that their tastes, both in terms of level of comfort and fabric choices, may differ from prospective purchasers.
Serious buyers only please. Rent to buy, part payment or swaps will not be considered.
The yacht is located at Sharpness Shipyard. This is a working commercial shipyard, so any viewings will need to be agreed in advance. However, the yacht can be viewed externally by way of a footpath which skirts the perimeter of the shipyard without the need for any prior arrangement.

The original Bukh DV20 engine has been removed and cleaned/serviced. The engine was working prior to removal. The high pressure lines have been replace and new injectors fitted to the fuel pump. The main diesel injectors have been ultrasonically cleaned and recalibrated. As a consequence of these works, the timing will need to be adjusted. As the engine is currently out of the yacht, the new owners may wish to take the opportunity to fit a newer or more powerful engine/gearbox. If this is of interest, then the current owners would be happy to discuss keeping the original engine and reducing the selling price accordingly. If not, then the original engine can be easily reinstalled as the internal modifications have not altered the engine bay mountings.
Included in the sale are a full set of sails which are in good order and free from any patches, tears or problems with stitching. The rigging is unchanged and is generally in good order.
Two winches - running freely.
Avon 6 man life raft (requires service)
