This yacht is a later 1989 version of the Bill Dixon designed Moody 31 Mk II offering excellent sailing performance and cruising comfort. She has spacious accommodation for up to 6 including a good sized aft double cabin. This yacht's hull is epoxied and she has a good cruising inventory including Eberspacher central heating, hot water, fully battened mainsail, stack pack system with lazyjacks (new 2021), B& G VHF & Vulcan Chartplotter with AIS receiver (new 2021), Raymarine i40 Bidata (new 2019), Sea-Me active radar target enhancer and Ambassador Rope Cutter (new 2021). Recent improvements and maintenance this year include the fitting of a new custom made tiller, replacement of the cutlass bearing and a strip down and full service of the anchor windlass. She has only 3 owners since new and in current ownership for 9 years she has been a much loved, reliable and comfortable cruising yacht that they have found a pleasure to sail. The present owners needed and have now found and purchased a larger yacht – hence the reduced asking price.

Designed by Bill Dixon, the Mk I Moody 31 was built from late 1983 to the end of 1985, at which time it was superseded by the Mk II, which was very similar, the main differences being the addition of a sugar scoop stern, and a change to a forward-facing chart table.
Production continued until 1991, by which time over 300 had been built in total. As standard the boats were tiller-steered, but a few had wheel steering fitted as an option. This yacht is tiller steered, which actually gives much more usable cockpit space than a wheel.
Unlike the earlier generation Moodys, which used a lot of exposed GRP and laminate, the Moody 31s have a fairly traditional and 'woody' interior.
