Reluctant sale, due to owners’ advancing years, of Pelagos, a much loved twin keel Moody 27. In current ownership since 2011, during which time she has had numerous upgrades, some of which are itemised below.
Designed by Bill Dixon, the Moody 27 is an easily handled and stable coastal cruiser with excellent accommodation and a good turn of speed.

Five / six berths - two in fore cabin, two in saloon and one / two in starboard quarter berth. (The present owners have used the quarter berth for galley stowage, but berth cushion is available.)
Standing headroom throughout
Fore cabin is equipped with hanging wardrobe and ample shelving and locker storage. The quarter berths convert to a double with an insert.
The saloon table seats six. Shelving and lockers for glassware, books, etc.
Heads compartment with sea toilet, wash handbasin, waterproof clothing wardrobe and toiletries locker.
L-shaped galley with gimballed cooker, comprising oven, grill and two burners, gas alarm, water basin and pump with filter, built in insulated cool box, generous stowage for cooking pans, utensils, tableware, cutlery, etc.
CQR anchor, chain and warp in bow locker and kedge anchor. Life harness attachment lines. De-mountable cockpit table. Non-slip matting to cockpit sole. Transom boarding / bathing ladder. Lifebuoy, throw bag and outboard bracket mounted on pushpit. Ensign and staff. Spray hood (2021). Cockpit dodgers (2023). Vented locker for two gas cylinders. Generous cockpit locker with mooring warps, fenders and boathook.
Chart table in saloon, hinging away when not in use, with stowage for charts and red chart light. Bulkhead compass. Raymarine sailing instruments, comprising wind speed and bearing, log and sounder. Raymarine chart plotter fitted with AIS receiver. Raymarine VHF with DSC. JRC radar. Echomax 230 radar reflector.
Volvo Penta 2002 diesel, winterised and serviced annually, driving three bladed prop with rope cutter, giving cruising speed of 5 knots. Water cooling anti-syphon fitted 2022. After engine bearings, water seacock and strainer, cutlass bearing and stern gland replaced 2025. Fuel tank grit blasted and re-galvanised and fuel gauge fitted 2017. Exhaust gas temperature sensor and alarm fitted 2018.
Cranking and domestic batteries, latter replaced 2025. Solar panel on hatch garage charging batteries via regulator. Electric and manual bilge pumps. Radio receiver with saloon and cockpit speakers.
Slab reefing mainsail with stack pack, lazy jacks and mast coat. Genoa with Harken furling gear. Cruising chute with snuffer and running rigging. Boom strut. Standing rigging renewed 2021.
