We bought “Adonde” in July 2005. We spent some time in the U.K. preparing the boat for the trip to the Caribbean, adding extra equipment and replacing anything we weren’t happy with. This has included two new Yanmar engines and saildrives, since the originally fitted Mercedes Smart diesels, despite low hours, were proving unreliable and impossible to maintain.
The Maxim 38 is a strongly built and seaworthy catamaran with a great reputation and Adonde has carried us safely from Europe across the Atlantic to the Caribbean, west to Venezuela and Curacao and up and down the island chain between Trinidad and Antigua. She is very well equipped as can be seen below, has never been chartered and has been maintained fastidiously since in our ownership. Our cruising time is drawing to a close but the boat is in great condition and ready to sail anywhere – now it’s your turn! We will probably remain in the south-east Caribbean, currently Grenada area, but could deliver anywhere… |

Fleetwing of Finstock is a comfortable, spacious and airy sloop for easy sailing, lying in the Caribbean. She has new rigging, foresail with Profurl roller-furling, bimini, deck gear and ground tackle plus new gelcoat topsides and hull. THe main is a Doyle with boom reefing. Aft double cabin with heads and separate shower en suite, saloon, galley, chart table, forepeak with double bunk and ensuite heads/shower; ample storage space. The auxiliary is a Perkins 4.108 with 1500 hours running time since the rebuild in 2002. There are 2 Garmin GPS, one below and one in the cockpit helm station; Furuno radar, VHF, SSB radio, depth-sounder and autopilot. There is 60m German SS 10mm anchor chain with a 45lb Delta, Fortress 28, and 40lb CQR anchors. Electric power is from a 480 amp-Hour golf-cart bank plus a two-battery bank for the starter and Lofrans windlass; with a Dolplhin 40A shore-power charger.
