Hyacinth was built in 1926 by Berthons,she is a West Solent One Design'W' restricted class,sail no 16. She was originally called Quiz but renamed a few years later.
In the 50's she was converted to a fast cruiser with a ketch rig by the original builders to lloyds specification.
She has Red Origon Pine planking on Oak frames with Rock Elm stem,stern post and keelson with a lead ballast keel.
The spars are all Spruce and the Standing and Running was replaced in 2005 .
A 13hp Yanmar is fitted which has recently been reconditioned and is very reliable.

" Gay Gannet " is a Sterling Class classic yacht designed by
Kim Holman and built by Uphams Yard, Brixham in 1963 from
Mahogany on Oak/Pitch Pine.Her measurements are 28' x 8'6''x 4'9''.
The Sterling is a forerunner of the Twister Class and was described in Practical Boat Owner June 2009 as " the perfect all-round small yacht "

She is currently lying afloat in full commission, Dun Laoghaire Marina, near Dublin, southern Ireland.

Der Name dieses beeindruckenden Wassergefährts: S I G A
Gemäß dem internationalen Klassifikationsschema ist die Yacht der Gruppe der "Ketches" zuzuordnen. Die Länge beträgt ca. 17,5 m (o.a.); darüber hinaus ist die "SIGA" mit einem "Mercedes" ausgestattet, das Getriebe wurde von den Qualitätswerken "Weber" entwickelt und gebaut (solide Konstruktion mit sehr langer Lebenszeit).
Da sich das Schiff allerdings schon einige Zeit im Wasser befindet, finden sich etliche Muscheln am Rumpf. Es ist an der Zeit es an Land ausgiebig zu pflegen.
Die vorliegenden Fotos wurden in der Sommersaison im Jahre 2008 angefertigt. Der Film, der das Bild des Interessenten mit Fakten und atmosphärischen Eindrücken ergänzt, wurde vor ca. 2,5 Jahren gedreht. Wir können Sie mit weiterführenden und auf Ihre Individualbedürfnisse abgestimmten Zusatzinformationen versorgen, soweit mir dies als Nichtfachmann möglich ist. Die Yacht verfügt über einen Rumpf, welcher ausschließlich aus Mahagoniholz hergestellt wurde (massiver Standard). Das Deck besteht zu 100 % Prozent aus burmesischem Teak und das Ausmaß der Segelflächen der "SIGA" beläuft sich auf insgesamt 130 m².
James Taylor, ein kompetenter Schiffsbauingenieur aus der Hafenstadt Liverpool, entwarf das Konzept der "SIGA". Im Jahre 1957 schließlich wurden seine Pläne dann umgesetzt. Die Yacht repräsentiert das Genre der letzten 3 Maxi-Cruiser dieser Erde (der gedankliche bzw. konzeptionelle "Überbau" dieser Serie wurde erst kürzlich mehr oder minder per Zufall festgestellt).
Die "SIGA" hat eine Malteser-Eintragung (damals sehr selten, lediglich 10 % der Yachten bekamen eine derartige Deklarierung).
Um den Wert der "SIGA" deutlich zu stellen, werden wir die folgende Tatsache rezitieren: 2007 wurde dem damaligen Schiffseigner ein Angebot gemacht. Die Charter für nur einen einzigen Sommer sollte ihm mit 50000 Euro vergütet werden. Jedoch verzichtete der Eigner unglücklicherweise darauf und zwar aus dem Grund, weil er einfach seine Ruhe haben wollte. Nun durchstreift er die himmlischen Luftstraßen und hat die ewige Ruhe gefunden.
Hier die Antworten auf die meist gestellten Fragen:
Das Interieur der Yacht wurde mit kostbaren Hölzern, wie Teak aus Burma und Mahagoni verarbeitet. Wenn auch Sie in der Reminiszens der "guten, alten" Seefahrt schwelgen möchten, dann sollten Sie in keinem Falle auf die "SIGA" verzichten. Die Yacht braucht jetzt wieder die nötige Aufmerksamkeit und Zuneigung von einem neuen engagierten Liebhaber!
Der Ankerplatz ist in Pula (auf der Halbinsel Istrien in Nordkroatien) Natürlich kann der Stellplatz - wenn Sie es möchten- auch weiterhin genutzt werden, die Kosten belaufen sich um die 4300 Euro p.a. inkl. Wasseranschluss, Marina-Duschennutzung und Strom. Alle Bürokratie-relevanten Papiere sind vollständig vorhanden, bis auf einen Riss / Layoutplan (lässt sich bei Bedarf in England nachbestellen). Die Registrierung der Besitzerrechte wird in Hamburg in Deutschland erfolgen. Zur Zeit steht die Yacht auch unter deutscher Flagge. Nach dem Ersetzen des defekten Hauptmastes und einiger Überholarbeiten wird die "SIGA" wieder seetüchtig sein. Wenn Sie möchten, können wir in ihrem Auftrage eine zuverlässige Firma kontaktieren, die das Auswechseln des Mastes akkurat durchführen wird. Dadurch würden mit unter 1000 Euro verhältnismäßig niedrige Kosten entstehen und sie profitieren von einem gut organisierten Service (Kranaktivität + Installation inbegriffen). Die betreffende Firma ist eine, mit welcher wir sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht haben.
Jetzt sind Sie an der Reihe! Lassen Sie das Angebot ganz in Ruhe Revue passieren. Was Sie hierbei und im Vergleich mit anderen Angeboten beachten sollten, wäre folgende Tatsache:
Sehr häufig werden allein Mahagonirümpfe auch dieser Größe separat verkauft. Die Preise dabei rangieren in der Regel von 50.000 100.000 Euro.
Und hierbei sei angemerkt, dass diese Rümpfe dann im Gegensatz zu dem Unsrigem nicht selten eine katastrophale Qualität haben.
Also, Einsatz zeigen (Mastersatz, Farbe, Schimmelprävention, Reparaturen etc.) kann den Wert der Ketch enorm erhöhen. Ein Preis im Bereich von 150.000 Euro ist dabei durchaus realistisch. Es wird sich auszahlen hier die Gelegenheit beim Schopfe zu packen.
Spezifische Daten bzgl. der "SIGA"
Länge des Rumpfes: 14,87 m komplettiert bei ca. 17.5m (wichtig bei Stellplatzänderungen)
Höhe des Mastes 19,00 m (muss ausgewechselt werden!)
Höhe ab Wasserlinie: 15,80 m
Breite der Yacht (des Decks): 4,20 m (3,95 m)
Gewicht: 37 Tonnen laut Aussage des Schiffseigners (der Wert muss aber meiner Meinung nach unten korrigiert werden!)
Tiefgang: 1,90 m
Antrieb: Mercedes-Motor 130 HP
Wasserkapazität: 1000 l
Kraftstoffkapazität: 2000 l
Stärke des Mahagoni: 4,2 cm
Stärke des Decks: ca. 8,0 cm
Besichtigungen sind täglich möglich, da sich der Besitzer vor Ort in Pula befindet.
3 Tage vor Ankunft wäre eine Ankündigung allerdings zwecks nötiger Planung sehr freundlich.
