SUNDANCER a Dynamo 25, Cruiser Racer designed by David Thomas and built by Tony Farrow of Farrow & Chambers.
SUNDANCER has just WON The Autumn League Regatta in RCYC in both IRC and ECHO Class 4, getting 6 first places, 2 second places and a third place in ECHO and 5 first places and 4 second places in IRC, out of ten races.
SUNDANCER has also just WON SCORA LEAGUE FOR 2009 in ECHO and 2nd place SCORA 2009 in IRC.

She is an excellent fast cruiser racer, easily managed by a small crew. She will give endless fun either cruising or racing and is in very good condition throughout.
SUNDANCER has 4 single berths, toilet, 2 ring gas cooker and sink. She has a Pentex Mainsail and Headsails and 2 Spinnakers. Electronics are Speed, Log, Depth Sounder and VHF.
She has done extremely well racing in the last three years in both Kinsale and Crosshaven. See Results below.

External timberwork needs a coat of varnish. local mooring available for the rest of this season, negotiable for next year. |

The Mustang 30 was the first design specifically to the CHS Rule (now IRC) by Paul Handley who also designed the RS K6 keelboat and is a well respected racing design with around 30 built between 1988 and 2002. Moving away from the wide hull and crew balanced IOR concept, originally with a wing keel now updated to the deep fin and bulb of later versions, she is ideally suited to a crew of between 3 and 5, has the ability to plane off wind and represents a low cost way of enjoying exhilarating high performance sailing in a highly manoeuvrable boat while giving a sense of stability due to the well balanced fractional rig and deep fin and bulb keel. Ideal for club racing and with basic accommodation for 4 adults can be enjoyable for passage races as well.
Revolver, built in 1991, has been carefully set up for racing and regularly exceeds 10 knots (the record is 16.6). She meets RORC Category 4 and with some additional equipment would easily come back up to Category 3.
She is extremely light on the helm and with a large rudder is very responsive. A straightforward swept back spreader rig, moderate mainsail and three-quarter foretriangle with a 140% overlap Genoa and a blade jib for above 16kn is all we normally carry. The large Westaway Spinnaker is easy to hoist and recover from a hatch bag. The older heavy spinnaker is valuable for use in marginal and short crewed situations.
Wintered ashore and carefully maintained and well equipped with new Navman instruments. professionally maintained Yanmar 1GM10 diesel. |
