OWNERS COMMENTS: “IRISH MIST” has been a family cruising boat and very successful in that role since we bought her in 1987 from a boatyard owner who had fitted her out for a world cruise that never materialised.
“IRISH MIST” has sailed to the River Plate and to Cape Town without a hitch. Since then, shorter cruises in Irish waters and occasionally Spain and France.
This is a boat which is comfortable, safe, reasonably fast (averages 6 knots easily) and pretty in a traditional sense with its long overhangs. Reason for selling: 3 children growing bigger and needing a bigger boat.
Well looked after, wintered ashore and benefiting from a recent renovation programme.

http://www,ohlson38.de/uebersich.htm
BROKERS COMMENTS: The Ohlson 38 was designed and built by Einar Ohlson in Sweden and has achieved cult status among admirer's of fine sailing yachts, handsome traditional appearance, excellent performance and fine craftsmanship in the clean and simple Scandanavian style.
“IRISH MIST” has only just had osmosis treatment, not because she had it but as a preventative.
The vessel was peeled and ground removing all gelcoat debris around skin fittings etc.
Peeled to the level of the capsulated keel and to the skeg line.
Hot pressured washed a number of times and then the HotVac was put on the complete vessel below the waterline. Moisture readings were consistent with the topsides.
Some moisture readings were variable due to the internal stringers, frames and internal mouldings and bulkheads which carry a foam core.
A full West System Osmosis treatment was carried out, vessel primed and antifouled.
2009 survey available.
