A very solid Cruiser Racer baed on the OOD34 but is much bigger. Inside the coachroof moulding is elongated and higher which mean she has 2 double aft cabins and a large L shaped galley
Built by Jeremy Rogers and designed by Doug Peterson. Well maintained and great history - the first out of the mould and boatshow model in 1982.
Injection moulded hull and usual high Contessa build quality.

MECHANICAL SYSTEM: YANMAR GM20F diesel engine indirect cooledinstalled 1988, conventional shaft drive , 2 bladed prop, 2 by 12v battery. SPARS: Mast head rigged, alloy mast and boom, stainless steel rigging, model A6 Rotorstay roller reefing with twin luffgroove. In boom single line slab reefing. Wheel operated backstay tensioner. SAILS: Main No 1&2 Genoas, No 3 Jib, Spinnaker, Storm Jib, Trisail, Cruising Main and No 2 jib. DECK EQUIPMENT: CQR Anchor with m chain and m octoplat warp. Misc warps and fenders. Lewmar winches 2x No 42 2 speed, 2x No 25 2speed, 2x No 6. NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT: 2x Plastimo bulkhead compass, B+G wind speed and direction, Calipper spped and distance, Stowe navsounder, Auto helm personal compass, Garmin GPS 50. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Life sling, Horse shoe life ring, Danboy, 3x Lifejackets, 2x Safety Harness, Search Light, Bilge Pump. SPORTS EQUIPMENT: Avon 8ft dinghy, Mariner 2HP outboard. This much loved vessel is reluctantly for sale comprising of :-
ACCOMMODATION: 6 berths in 2 cabins V Berth to fore-peak. 2 single setee births in main cabin and a quarter birth on the aft starboard side.
GALLEY: with plastimo 2 burner gas cooker with oven and grill, sink with fresh cold water supply.
HEADS: with lavac sea toilet and wash hand basin.
MECHANICAL SYSTEMS: Volvo 2003 27hp diesel engine fitted post 1992. via conventional shaft drive to a two bladed propeller. 2 x 12 v batteries 5 years old.
she has also been rewired by TLC Marine Electronics of Conwy in 2007
SPARS&SAILS: Masthead rigged with KEMO alloy spars with and stainless steel standing rigging. Furlex roller reefing 2005. Crusader genoa Selden rod kicker 2005. Fully batterned mainsail, crusader stack pack and lazy jacks 2006. Storm jib, number 1,2,3,4 genoas, spinnaker. New standing rigging 2005. New sacrificial strip to genoa 2008.
DECK EQUIPMENT: 25lb CQR anchor with 10m of chain and 35m of wrap
New spray hood 2008. Warps/fenders. Spray dodgers. Yard cradle
NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT: 2 X Plastimo compass, NASA clipper depth/speed/old/wind instruments (2005), VHF , Radar reflector, Navico TP1800 autopilot, GPS, NASA AIS radar receiver detector, standard horizon CP180i chart plotter with irish sea C map.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Horseshoe lifeboat, Clock/Barometer, Danbuoy, searchlight, bilge pump x 2. New flares pack, wooden bungs etc.
TENDERS AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT: Avon tender and outboard.
SERVICE HISTORY AND CONSTRUCTION: Built by Jeremy Rodgers in 1976 to a David Sadler design "Aristophanes" has a blue hull and white deck and superstructure on a lead encapsulated fin keel. In 2007 all anti-fouling was removed and 3 coats of international epoxy applied, primed and new antifoul by Dickies of Bangor as per survey 2007 (available).
