Lovely Leisure 17, ready to sail. Currently on great moorings in idyllic marina with full facilities on Norfolk Broads , moorings paid for next three months. Broads license paid until June 2010 with Boat Safety Certificate until 2013. Open plan cabin, comprising two aft quarter berths and two berths up front. Used by family to explore the Broads, she's in good condition complete with main sail, storm jib, cruising foresail and full genoa all in good condition plus as new spinnaker. Includes braked trailer and 4hp Mariner outboard, new fenders, danforth anchor,warp and chain, bilge pump etc. Roller reefing mainsail, and a really useful canvas canopy giving much extra space. Antifouled only a few months ago. A delight to sail. Would really like to keep her but family are growing so need a little more room. |

This is a great little cruiser and has taken us round Wales on a number of occasions. She sails well and is surprisingly roomy. The cockpit is very generous. Virtually full set of installation/maintenance manuals for all equipment. She is looking pretty smart cosmetically with the exception of her deck paint.

Scamp is my Fabulous Leisure 17. She is a five half mtr bilge keel. Consisting of a four berth cabin, incl:in cabin, Table, two ring cooker and grill. Switchboard for Navigation and interior lighting which can be run straight off the Battery or from the engine. Inc a Solar Panel trickle charger keeping the battery charged at all times. Sea Toilet, Fire extinguisher and all the usual refinements and comfort that the Leisure 17 incorporates. Also incl: is a full set of sails, Main sail. Forward Jib sail, this is on Roller Reefing. plus Spinnaker sail and pole.
All Sails are in great condition. Manuel Bilge pump, Depth Sounder, Anchor and chain, and 4 fenders all is in good condition & ready to go.
The Leisure 17 can easily be sailed single handed and transported on its two wheel Braked Trailer.
Included in this sale is a New Two and half Mtr inflatable Dinghy used twice only.
2006 HONDA 5hp four stroke Engine with only 30 hours on her.

The Leisure 17 is one of the most successful small yachts ever built, designed by Arthur Howard a lightweight trailer sailor with Masthead Rig. Four full length berths. Bilge keel and skeg mounted rudder. The hull is built in solid GRP with the deck in balsa sandwich, combining immense strength, with maximum insulation. Redesigned coachroof to give a more modern wedge-shaped look is an extremely stiff and easy boat to handle, and is ideal for short-handed and family crews
ENGINE: Yamaha 4 Hp petrol engine serviced annually, last serviced May 08.
ACCOMMODATION: Open plan cabin, comprising two aft quarter berths and two berths up front. Internal GRP moulded, forming 4 full length settee berths/seating area lit by Perspex windows both sides and forward with vented cabin top. The tabernacle supports an adjustable height pivoting chart table with fiddles. Under berth stowage areas have loose ply covers supporting 3" fabric covered tailored cushions. Backrests in matching 2" fabric Velcro fixed to further (glove box) type stowage space with shelf over. Bulkheads trimmed in teak ply (Aft berths continue below cockpit well).
DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT: Immaculate condition interior. A portable chemical toilet is located forward of the tabernacle in its GRP moulded stowage compartment concealed beneath a matching fabric covered lift off hood. Portable one ring butane gas burner. Good under seat storage.
SPARS, RIGGING & SAILS:
Mainsail
Roller furling genoa
Storm jib
Aluminium mast and roller reefing boom, stainless steel inner and outer shrouds with raked back spreaders, single forestay and split twin backstay. The mast contains 4 internal halyards each has its own cleat. The mainsheet is 4: 1 and traveller mounted aft of the cockpit. Roller furling headsail, sheets led via travellers to jamming cleats with integral fairleads.
DECK EQUIPMENT: Pushpit, pulpit and guardrails. Cockpit cushions. Boarding ladder. Tiller steering. Outboard racket on pushpit. Anchor chain and warp. Fenders. Guardrails Are 7 x 19 stainless steel and run between pushpit and pulpit rails supported by two further intermediate stanchions providing continuous protection a link rail is provided aft centrally over the transom to assist boarding access. The Anchor Locker is self draining, and is forward within pulpit area and contains a 5Kg Bruce anchor 14m of chain and 18m of warp, which can be fed through the bow roller/fairlead and attached to a central mooring cleat. The Aft Locker is full width/depth of transom contains 12V Battery, vented externally and lockable via a warp led into the cabin with cam-cleat. Stowage also for fenders, warps etc Boarding ladder is situated to the portside of the transom with a centre clip on guard rail to assist boarding access. The Cockpit has moulded seating for four persons with waterproof vinyl covered cushions. Self draining sole (crossover outlets) access to the cabin is forward and central via a sliding hatch and two loose washboards one of which is vented. Depth sounder display and compass mounting are fitted. A mooring cleat is mounted on each quarter.
ELECTRONICS: Are fed from a 12V (44amp/hr) battery also fitted in the externally vented aft locker. Wiring is led to the cabin via conduit to a key operated isolating switch, a fused 3 way supply also switched feeds an AM radio/cassette, a depth sounder, CB radio and twin cabin lighting with twin cigarette lighter socket outlets for accessories. With its long waterline and generous beam the Leisure 20 is a superbly balanced four-berth family cruiser that can be sailed just about anywhere in absolute safety and complete comfort. Designed for both serious offshore cruising and inshore pottering, it's the ideal trailer-sailer-giving you a virtually unlimited choice of horizons. Under sail the Leisure 20 is extremely stable, vice-free and fast, performing well under all types of conditions. Under power it will cruise happily and economically with a 5 to 7 horsepower outboard, and is very manoeuvrable whether going ahead or astern.
Built in GRP for strength, rigidity and minimum maintenance, the '20' is surprisingly roomy for its size. The centreboard has a galvanised mild steel plate, housed in a cast iron stub tube. rudder and skeg are moulded GRP with steel framework and stainless steel fittings. A teak rubbing strake is standard.
You will need an outboard motor between 507 hp longshaft. You should pick one up for about 500-600. Im negotiable on the price ...a small bit!
I will swap her for a fishing/ power boat of about the same value. |
